Choosing one plush toy is fun. Creating a pair is even better. The Amuseables Rainbow Birthday Cake already makes a colourful statement, but combining it with a second character can turn a simple gift into a playful little collection.
Whether you are shopping for a birthday, building a plush display or simply looking for characters that complement one another, here are five very different plush toys to pair with the Rainbow Birthday Cake.
1. Bashful Beige Bunny 'Birthday'
If you want the strongest birthday theme, start with the Bashful Beige Bunny 'Birthday'.
A birthday-themed bunny beside a plush birthday cake feels like a combination designed for a celebration. The neutral bunny colouring can also provide a softer visual contrast against the colourful cake design.
This pairing works particularly well when you want a birthday present to feel like a coordinated set rather than two unrelated toys.
2. Amuseables Sports Tennis Ball
Shopping for somebody who would choose a tennis court over a tea party? Pair the cake with the Amuseables Sports Tennis Ball.
The sports-inspired design takes the gift in a completely different direction and allows you to combine the birthday theme with one of the recipient's interests. It is also a fun example of how a plush collection does not need to consist entirely of traditional animals.
3. Timmy Turtle
For a wonderfully mismatched duo, meet Timmy Turtle.
The khaki turtle-inspired character brings a more muted colour palette next to the Rainbow Birthday Cake. That contrast can make both designs stand out rather than blend together.
A cake and a turtle might not sound like obvious companions, but quirky combinations are exactly what can make plush collections memorable.
4. Cobblehop Bunny Exclusive
The Cobblehop Bunny Exclusive is another option for bunny fans, featuring long floppy ears and distinctive brown and beige patterned styling.
Where the cake brings bright celebration energy, Cobblehop Bunny introduces earthy colours and an animal-inspired silhouette. Together, they create an interesting balance of colour, shape and theme.
5. Gobfrey Whale Shark
Want to make the collection even more unexpected? Add the ocean-inspired Gobfrey Whale Shark.
Its teal-blue aquatic styling creates a striking contrast with a rainbow cake plush. This is a particularly fun combination for collectors who enjoy putting characters from completely different themes together.
Which Plush Pair Should You Choose?
There is no rule saying plush characters have to match perfectly. In fact, the most entertaining collections often mix food characters, animals, sports themes and unusual creatures.
Choose a birthday bunny when you want a coordinated celebration gift, the tennis ball for a sports lover, Timmy Turtle or Cobblehop Bunny for an animal fan, or Gobfrey Whale Shark for someone who loves marine life.
Whichever direction you choose, start the celebration with the colourful Amuseables Rainbow Birthday Cake and build a plush pairing that reflects the personality of the person receiving it.
